We’re just a few days from the elections.

On Sunday the Obama campaign announced some big news:

$150,000,000 raised last month.

Colin Powell pledges his support.

The money first – it’s a big number, dwarfs that being raised by McCain, and sets up Obama for the home stretch to the election. One of the big advantages of outraising his opponent is that Obama’s campaign will be able to effectively compete in more states, putting pressure on McCain to spread his fewer resource thinly across the country.

The other big one is Colin Powell, which is a tremendous endorsements. Powell is one of the more respected figures in the country, was pushed for some time to be a Presidential candidate himself, and is a republican to boot. A military figure with a strong knowledge of international relations, Mr. Powell’s pledging of his support for Obama will bolster the candidate’s image when it comes to international affairs.
